Nickie Ferrante's return to New York to marry a rich heiress is well publicized as are his many antics and affairs. The Beiderbecke Affair is a television series produced in the United Kingdom by ITV during 1985, written by the prolific Alan Plater, whose lengthy credits to British Television since the 1960s included the preceding 4 part mini series Get Lost! for ITV in 1981. The Beiderbecke Affair has a similar style to Get Lost!, where Neville Keaton and Judy Threadgold played in an ensemble cast. Although The Beiderbecke Affair was intended as a sequel to Get Lost!, Alun Armstrong proved to be unavailable and the premise was reworked. State Affair

State Affair was a current affairs program televised in Australia on Seven Network stations BTQ-7, ADS-7, and TVW-7 in the mid 1980s. It was the forerunner to Today Tonight. The first edition aired in 1980 on BTQ-7. ADS-7, launched their edition with weekend news presenter, Guy Blackmore in 1981. The West Australian version followed in 1982. Notable presenters included Simon Reeve and Keith Conlon. It won a Logie Award in 1982 as the most popular South Australian program.
